Hey, I’m Tim Wong

Hey, I’m Tim Wong RMT

I’m a Registered Massage Therapist, Movement Coach, and Personal Trainer.

I’ve been treating and resolving the injuries, aches and pains of Toronto’s athletic community for the last 10 years.

I’ve helped hundreds of Torontonians aim towards life-time personal bests, dominate at their sport, without sacrificing their long term health and wellness.

But it wasn’t always like that…

I’ve been through my share of injuries and went to many therapists experiencing relief but without receiving any longer lasting solutions.

I went through it all:

The trying everything I could find on the internet and social media
The costly and time-wasting treatments
The lack of results and loss of hope

I wanted to throw in the towel and stop my goals of competing at a high level in Weightlifting and Soccer

Maybe you can relate?

Let me help you fast track your road to recovery.
I use some of the best Massage Therapy techniques that I've learned over my life

4 Types of Massage Therapy Treatments that we utilize for Tennis Elbow at the Holistic Move

Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (PDTR)

PDTR is a specialized technique that focuses on stimulating specific proprioceptive receptors to restore proper proprioception and re-optimize muscle function. By activating deep tendon reflexes, this technique helps re-establish the communication between the nervous system and muscles, promoting stability, reducing pain, and aiding in the recovery of typical overuse injuries such as Tennis Elbow. Click here to know more about PDTR.

Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT)

NKT is a cutting-edge technique that identifies and corrects faulty movement patterns by addressing muscle imbalances and dysfunctional movement compensations. By using manual muscle testing and precise corrective exercises, NKT aims to reprogram the neuro-muscular system, promoting pain relief, improved stability, and enhanced athletic performance for individuals with Tennis Elbow.

Active Release Technique (ART)

My Active Release Technique (ART) is a dynamic and hands-on approach that combines movement and precise pressure to treat Tennis Elbows. By targeting adhesions and scar tissue, ART breaks down barriers to healing, improves range of motion, and accelerates recovery.

Sports Massage Therapy

Our specialized sports massage therapy combines various manual therapy techniques, including deep tissue massage and Swedish massage, to target muscle imbalances, reduce tension, and enhance recovery. By addressing the specific needs of athletes and active individuals, this comprehensive approach promotes optimal healing, restores functionality, and boosts your elbow’s resilience against repetitive use. Frequently Asked Questions

As an RMT, I will continue to offer high-quality therapeutic massage therapy treatments. In addition, with my additional education and training in functional neurology, I can offer patients an integrative approach that often has many longer-lasting benefits. Using a functional neurology-based therapy like P-DTR, we identify the movements that cause your symptoms, perform a specific treatment, retest the same movement after treatment, then provide you with the appropriate exercises for “homework” to solidify our results. Rest assured, I am also Certified and Licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

I often hear from my patients that they have tried nearly everything to resolve their issues or meet their fitness goals. Since every case is unique, this is why I have an initial assessment appointment for first timer visitors. It allows me to understand the problem better, ask the proper questions, and recommend the best treatment for your needs.

I work with people from all walks of life! From the weekend warrior to the seasoned athlete, I will always find the most effective way for everyone to find success in meeting their goals.

I accept Cash, Debit, Credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and e-transfer.
By request, direct billing is also available for those with extended health benefits.
In all cases except personal training services, an RMT receipt will be issued after each visit.
No, my clinic practice is geared more towards therapeutic care rather than a spa so a tip is not required. Referring me to your friends and family is the most appreciated form of a tip. If your experience is spectacular, consider giving me a great review!

Yes. If you have remaining coverage for Registered Massage Therapy, you will be issued a RMT receipt upon payment that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. In some cases, a Doctor’s note may be required – Contact your insurance company for details. We are not direct billing for Massage Therapy at the moment.

Unfortunately, no. My schedule is frequently booked up weeks in advance. I recommend booking an appointment ahead of time using my online booking system.

Yes, massage therapy can be highly beneficial for Tennis Elbow. It helps reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle tension in the affected area. Massage techniques target the muscles, tendons, and connective tissues surrounding the elbow, promoting healing, improving mobility, and restoring function.

The timeline for experiencing results can vary depending on the severity of the condition and individual factors. Some individuals may experience relief after a few sessions, while others may require more time. Consistency and adherence to the recommended treatment plan, including self-care measures, are crucial for optimal results.

Tennis Elbow massage can involve some discomfort, particularly when addressing areas of tension and trigger points. However, your therapist will work within your comfort level, ensuring that the pressure applied is appropriate for your tolerance. Effective communication with your therapist is essential to ensure a comfortable and effective session.

Can I receive Tennis Elbow massage if I have other arm or shoulder conditions?

The frequency of Tennis Elbow massage sessions will depend on various factors, including the severity of your condition, your response to treatment, and your therapist’s recommendations. In most cases, a series of sessions initially, followed by maintenance sessions, may be recommended. Your therapist will create a customized treatment plan based on your specific needs.

Absolutely. In fact, integrating Tennis Elbow massage with other complementary treatments or therapies can often yield even more comprehensive results. Your RMT can collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists or chiropractors, to create a holistic treatment plan tailored to your needs. This approach may include exercises, stretching routines, and additional modalities to support your recovery and optimize outcomes.

NKT and P-DTR are two advanced treatments that focus on locating the root cause of your ankle sprain and correcting the functional imbalances within the body. Using precise manual muscle tests, an experienced therapist can quickly find the root of many dysfunctions that is causing your ankle pain or discomfort and treating it.
