Integrative approach to identifying the root problem, effective correctional strategies, and producing long-lasting results.
Book an appointment, experience the best treatment, leave feeling like a better version of yourself.
Here’s how it works:
I’ll take you through a comprehensive biomechanical and identify the source of your problem. Then I’ll explain the steps that’s needed to get you back on track towards reaching your fitness goals and doing the things you enjoy.
I’ll develop a tailored strategic plan designed specifically to you and your goals. This plan will allow you to become more physically resilient, pain-free, and quickly get back to your favourite activity effectively and efficiently.
Once your issues are resolved and you are moving efficiently without any pain or discomfort, I will implement exercise and therapeutic strategies to help solidify our results and to avoid future relapses of your issue. Consider this our method of “bulletproofing” your body against future wear and tear in your sport and daily life.
Individuals with rotator cuff tear pain may also experience shoulder instability, leading to a feeling of looseness or frequent dislocations. Our specialized massage techniques strengthen and stabilize the shoulder joint, reducing instability and enhancing overall function
Rotator cuff tears can cause muscle imbalances in the shoulder, leading to compensatory movements and further pain. Our targeted massage therapy addresses rotator cuff muscle imbalances, restoring proper alignment and function for optimal recovery.
Limited Range of Motion
Rotator cuff tear pain often results in restricted shoulder movement, making everyday activities challenging. Through our precise massage techniques, we alleviate pain and promote increased range of motion, enabling you to move freely and comfortably.
Decreased Quality of Life
Living with rotator cuff tear pain can significantly impact an individual’s overall quality of life, affecting sleep, mood, and daily activities. Our tailored massage therapy approach aims to alleviate pain, enhance functionality, and improve your overall well-being, empowering you to enjoy life to the fullest.
As an RMT, I will continue to offer high-quality therapeutic massage therapy treatments. In addition, with my additional education and training in functional neurology, I can offer patients an integrative approach that often has many longer-lasting benefits. Using a functional neurology-based therapy like P-DTR, we identify the movements that cause your symptoms, perform a specific treatment, retest the same movement after treatment, then provide you with the appropriate exercises for “homework” to solidify our results. Rest assured, I am also Certified and Licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
I often hear from my patients that they have tried nearly everything to resolve their issues or meet their fitness goals. Since every case is unique, this is why I have an initial assessment appointment for first timer visitors. It allows me to understand the problem better, ask the proper questions, and recommend the best treatment for your needs.
While massage therapy cannot directly heal a tear, it can facilitate in the recovery process by reducing pain, improving circulation, and promoting muscle mobility, which has been shown to greatly support the healing of the torn tissues.
Massage therapy can be an effective non-invasive option for managing rotator cuff tear pain. However, the suitability of massage therapy as an alternative to surgery depends on the severity of the tear. Consulting with a healthcare professional is recommended for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
Yes, massage therapy can be beneficial for individuals in various stages of a rotator cuff tear, from acute injuries to post-recovery rehabilitation. The duration of recovery varies depending on the severity of the tear and individual factors. With regular sessions, most clients experience noticeable improvements in pain reduction, range of motion, and function within a few weeks to months.
Massage therapy for a rotator cuff tear should not be excessively painful. Our therapists are trained to apply appropriate pressure and techniques to ensure your comfort during the session. While you may experience some discomfort during certain therapeutic movements or when targeting specific areas, it should not be unbearable. Communication with your therapist is essential to provide feedback and adjust the treatment as needed to ensure a positive and effective experience.
Absolutely. Massage therapy can complement other sports medicine treatments for a rotator cuff tear, such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and medical interventions. Our therapists work in collaboration with your Physiotherapist or Chiropractor to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to your recovery. By combining different modalities, we can optimize the healing process, address specific needs, and support your overall progress.
Massage therapy can help address muscle imbalances, improve posture, and strengthen the shoulder socket, which may reduce the risk of future rotator cuff tears. Incorporating regular maintenance sessions and adopting proper exercise techniques can further contribute to injury prevention.
The number of sessions required depends on various factors, including the severity of the tear, individual healing ability, and adherence to the treatment plan. Our therapists will assess your condition and recommend a personalized session plan to optimize your recovery.
