The Holistic Move Sports Massage Toronto provides:
Integrative approach to identifying the root problem, effective correctional strategies, and producing long-lasting results.
Book an appointment, experience the best treatment, leave feeling like a better version of yourself.
Here’s how it works:
I’ll take you through a comprehensive biomechanical and identify the source of your problem. Then I’ll explain the steps that’s needed to get you back on track towards reaching your fitness goals and doing the things you enjoy.
I’ll develop a tailored strategic plan designed specifically to you and your goals. This plan will allow you to become more physically resilient, pain-free, and quickly get back to your favourite activity effectively and efficiently.
Once your issues are resolved and you are moving efficiently without any pain or discomfort, I will implement exercise and therapeutic strategies to help solidify our results and to avoid future relapses of your issue. Consider this our method of “bulletproofing” your body against future wear and tear in your sport and daily life.
Reduced Range of Motion
Plantar Fasciitis can cause limitations in the range of motion of the affected lower leg, making it difficult to perform daily activities and engage in sports or exercise. At The Holistic Move, we are confident in our ability to restore your range of motion, allowing you to move freely and without discomfort.
Muscle Weakness and Imbalances
Plantar Fasciitis often result from muscle imbalances and weaknesses in the lower leg and surrounding areas. Our experienced therapists are skilled in identifying and addressing these imbalances, providing targeted treatments that strengthen and re-balance the muscles. With our expertise, we are confident in helping you regain strength and restore proper muscle function.
Limited Flexibility
Plantar Fasciitis can lead to tightness and reduced flexibility in the lower leg muscles and connective tissues surrounding the shins. Our specialized massage techniques and stretching protocols are designed to improve flexibility, releasing tension and restoring optimal range of motion. Trust in our expertise to help you regain the flexibility you need for pain-free movement.
Disrupted Training and Performance
Plantar Fasciitis can significantly disrupt your training routine and hinder your athletic performance. The pain and discomfort associated with Plantar Fasciitis may force you to reduce or modify your workouts, impacting your progress and goals. At The Holistic Move, we understand the importance of training consistency and performance optimization.
PDTR is a specialized technique that focuses on stimulating specific proprioceptive receptors to restore proper proprioception and re-optimize muscle function. By activating deep tendon reflexes, this technique helps re-establish the communication between the nervous system and muscles, promoting stability, reducing pain, and aiding in the recovery of typical overuse injuries from tendonitis. Click here to know more about PDTR.
NKT is a cutting-edge technique that identifies and corrects faulty movement patterns by addressing muscle imbalances and dysfunctional movement compensations. By using manual muscle testing and precise corrective exercises, NKT aims to reprogram the neuromuscular system, promoting pain relief, improved stability, and enhanced athletic performance for individuals with tendonitis.
Our specialized sports massage therapy combines various techniques, including deep tissue massage and Swedish massage, to target muscle imbalances, reduce tension, and enhance recovery. By addressing the specific needs of athletes and active individuals, this comprehensive approach promotes optimal healing, restores functionality, and boosts your tendon’s resilience. As an RMT, I will continue to offer high-quality therapeutic massage therapy treatments. In addition, with my additional education and training in functional neurology, I can offer patients an integrative approach that often has many longer-lasting benefits. Using a functional neurology-based therapy like P-DTR, we identify the movements that cause your symptoms, perform a specific treatment, retest the same movement after treatment, then provide you with the appropriate exercises for “homework” to solidify our results. Rest assured, I am also Certified and Licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
I often hear from my patients that they have tried nearly everything to resolve their issues or meet their fitness goals. Since every case is unique, this is why I have an initial assessment appointment for first timer visitors. It allows me to understand the problem better, ask the proper questions, and recommend the best treatment for your needs.
Massage therapy for Plantar Fasciitis offers several benefits. It helps reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle tension in the foot, promoting relaxation and improving blood circulation. Additionally, targeted techniques can release adhesions and restore flexibility to the fascia, promoting healing and reducing the risk of reoccurrence.
The timeline for experiencing results can vary depending on the severity of the condition and individual factors. Some individuals may experience relief after a few sessions, while others may require more time. Consistency and adherence to the recommended treatment plan, including self-care measures, are crucial for optimal results.
Plantar Fasciitis massage can involve some discomfort, particularly when addressing areas of tension and trigger points. However, your therapist will work within your comfort level, ensuring that the pressure applied is appropriate for your tolerance. Effective communication with your therapist is essential to ensure a comfortable and effective session.
While massage therapy cannot guarantee a cure for Plantar Fasciitis, it can significantly contribute to heel pain reduction, improved mobility, and overall healing. Combined with a comprehensive treatment plan that includes stretching, strengthening exercises, and proper footwear, massage therapy can play a vital role in managing and overcoming Plantar Fasciitis.
It’s essential to inform your massage therapist about any pre-existing foot conditions or injuries before the session. Your therapist will evaluate your specific situation and adjust the treatment approach accordingly. In some cases, modifications may be made to avoid aggravating the condition or injury while still providing therapeutic benefits for Plantar Fasciitis.
Depending on the severity of your Plantar Fasciitis, your therapist may recommend modifications or temporary adjustments to your regular activities to support the healing process. It’s crucial to follow their guidance to prevent further strain on the affected foot and promote optimal recovery. Open communication with your therapist is key in determining the appropriate level of activity during your treatment.
The timing for resuming regular activities after Plantar Fasciitis massage will depend on several factors, including the severity of your condition and your body’s response to treatment. Your massage therapist will provide guidance on gradually reintroducing activities and exercises to avoid reinjury. It’s important to listen to your body, follow the recommended plan, and communicate with your therapist to ensure a safe and effective transition.
Yes, combining Plantar Fasciitis massage with other treatments or therapies can enhance overall results. Your massage therapist can work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists or podiatrists, to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This integrated approach may involve exercises, stretching routines, orthotics, or other modalities that complement the massage therapy, leading to more comprehensive and effective outcomes.
